The first time I had ever seen the Colosseum was in a movie and I have yet to see this beautiful piece of architecture in Rome. The roman Colosseum in its day was far more outrageous than our movie theaters or performing arts theaters of today. One from our time could only imagine what it was like to watch a show, or the Gladiators fight. I would think it was nothing less than amazing. The attention to detail in the architecture is great. I could look at pictures of this place and only hope that I will be able to visit it one day.

I agree with you. The Colosseum is indeed a sight to behold! It will take your breath away if you ever see it. The details that go into a such a build are incomprehensible today. It would be quite interesting to ask architects of today to attempt to undertake building a structure like the colosseum without the use of modern technology. Do you think it could be done with the work ethic present in modern culture?
I too have seen the colosseum in movies and it is quite breath taking. You picked an awesome su bject to blog on. I almost feel as though we dont have anything modern that can compare to this peice of work. It is truely amazing!
